THE CHALLENGE.
To promote learning and understanding of the management of diabetes, while engaging and entertaining users.
THE SOLUTION.
We created an educational virtual reality game called ‘Diabetes Voyager’, utilising Xbox Kinect and Oculus Rift. Diabetes Voyager allows users to travel inside the body of a diabetic patient, visiting the heart, brain and vascular system, and facing key challenges related to diabetes management. Using gamification to explain the problems diabetic patients face allowed the users to better understand the information, and made the process a lot more engaging.
THE RESULTS.
We took the experience to a three-day pharmaceutical conference, and over 300 excited delegates queued up at the stand to try out the Diabetes Voyager VR, totalling 35 hours of captivating virtual reality existence.
Diabetes Voyager won a Silver award at the 2014 RX Club Awards for global healthcare advertising.
